Some Endangered Animals of the World
About the Arist:

Ellen Hayden: has a BFA in painting from the State University of NY at New Paltz. She has been seriously involved in painting and art for the last 35 years. She is looking to achieve a universal theme by use of the cats as a symbol, by color, and by shape in 20th century terms.

All of the paintings and items in the show are of endangered animals of our planet that need help and awareness. Some of the animals featured in the paintings are numbered less than 200 in the wild, like the Asian Lion or the Three Toed Sloth which there are less than 89 in the wild today. Another sad fact is the Pangolin (or the scaly anteaters) are the most sold endangered species today. Though it has been illegal internationally to buy or sell pangolin products for years, their meat is considered a delicacy and their scales are used in traditional medicine throughout China and Southeast Asia

The inspiration behind this show involves a group of artists, like myself, as well as outsider artist, Jackie Underwood and a renounced English artist, David Stribbling, one of the UK's leading wildlife artists, also has a painting int eh show. Some of the paintings I have collected and purchased for the show have already generated money towards the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as well as the Cheetah Conservation Fund.

For our show, "Some Endangered Animals of the World", we will donate 20% of each sale to the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
